Job Description

 

Sustain, improve, and develop dry etch processes in a volume manufacturing facility. Partner with Operations, Equipment Engineering Support, Integration, and R&D to deliver products on time to customer specifications. Interface with global counterparts to benchmark and improve etch processes and procedures company wide.

  • You can sustain and improve dry etch processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • You can monitor and control etch processes.
  • You can develop and implement new dry etch capabilities and process enhancements to improve key performance metrics such as yield, throughput, and cycle time.
  • You can troubleshoot and solve yield issues.
  • You can ramp new process technologies from R&D to volume manufacturing.
  • You can suggest work methods for new tasks and tasks that you lead.
  • You can characterize and qualify new equipment, equipment upgrades, chemicals, and process technologies.
  • You can interface with global counterparts to benchmarks and improve dry etch processes and procedures company wide.
  • You can support the Integration team and Quality organization to ensure technologies meet all qualification and reliability requirements.
  • You can support process and technology transfers between global manufacturing sites.
  • You can use FMEAs, lean manufacturing, six sigma processes, and 8D problem solving processes.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Either B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Solid State Physics, or other relevant engineering physical science discipline is required.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dry etch principles, theories, concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to use knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of difficult problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead task teams and small to medium projects.
  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Experience with design of experiment techniques and data analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self-starter.
  • Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a global team or environment.
  • Minimum 4 years dry etch process engineering experience with B.S. Degree or 2 years of experience with advanced degree. 
  • Expertise in poly and/or metal etch with experience using LAM2300, AMAT DPS, and/or LAM9600 tools preferred.
  • Six sigma certifications, knowledge of PROMIS WIP management and JMP statistical analysis software are a plus.
